Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) for Community Responders
MONDAY, May 3, 2004, 8:30am – 11:30am
This adaptation of SEMS is written for non-professional emergency responders and closes gaps for community agencies, religious organizations, homeowners associations and other groups. This community-oriented method helps community leaders to simply and cost-effectively address the response needs of their own organizations AND work as partners with first responders. If you’d like to say good-bye to huge, intimidating disaster binders that sit (unopened) on your shelf, this class is for you.
Planning for the Unthinkable: Everyone Survives!
WEDNESDAY, May 5, 2004, 2:30pm – 5:30pm
Earthquakes, fires, floods and acts of terrorism are just a few of the disasters for which we must plan – while our budgets shrink and our communities grow larger and more diverse. Government officials, nonprofits, foundations and private sector decision-makers will have an eye-opening look at planning myths, critical gaps in our infrastructure, and simple ways to build a more dynamic, inclusive response system to support California’s people and economy. This class is normally only offered during CSTI (California Specialized Training Institute) weeklong training programs.
